This 1-day course in a Microsoft Excel Introduction course aimed at people who are new to MS Excel. Participants should be comfortable using a PC / Laptop and have basic keyboard and mouse skills.

  • Overview of the Screen / Ribbon / Quick Access Toolbar
  • Explain Workbooks / Worksheets / Worksheet Tabs
  • Entering Data – Text / Number / Date / Basic Formula
  • Order of operations in a formula
  • Using the Autofill tool
  • Using Cut / Copy and Paste
  • Editing Data including the Undo / Redo feature
  • Using the SUM Function
  • Selecting Ranges
  • Saving a Workbook
Module 3: - Presenting your Workbook
  • Printing
  • View Settings – Zoom / Freeze Panes
  • Paste Special – Values, Formats etc.
  • Creating a Basic Chart
  • Conditional Formatting
  • Databases / Data Lists in Excel
    • Sorting Data / Filtering Data
    • Using the Sub-totals feature
    • Grouping and Ungrouping Rows & Columns
Module 2: - Using MS Excel
  • Rows and Columns – Delete, Insert, Copy, Move Hide & Unhide rows and columns
  • Modify Column width and Row Height
  • Worksheets – Delete, Insert, Copy & Move Worksheets
  • Changing Worksheet Tab colours
  • Creating Formulas and Functions
  • Formatting
    • Numbers and Dates
    • Alignment of data
    • Borders
    • Text Wrapping
